Over the past 25 years, Jim and his agents brokered more than 1,200 apartment communities in Metro Phoenix with more than $1Billion in value. He recently joined Coldwell Banker Commercial to re-start his multifamily brokerage, have national exposure for his clients and continue to provide the best service possible.
Jim received a Master’s Degree in geology in 1975 from the Univ. of New Mexico and conducted worldwide mineral exploration for major mining companies. In 1998, he started a new career and joined RE/MAX Commercial Investment in Scottsdale, AZ and formed the Kasten Long Apartment Team. This team achieved national and international awards from RE/MAX Commercial. In 2008, Jim formed his own company (Kasten Long Commercial Group) – still with a focus on apartments / investments. Over the 25-year period, Jim has partnered with clients with ownership on many apartment communities.
In addition to brokerage, Jim also provides apartment market research including the Metro Phoenix Apartment Owner’s Newsletter – quarterly since 1998. He has also served as an expert witness representing apartment owners and has been appointed by the Maricopa Family Court.

Chris is a full-time commercial real estate broker specializing in multifamily and apartment investments across Metro Phoenix. An experienced investor himself, Chris understands what drives returns and how to identify the right opportunities for his clients.
He began investing in real estate before becoming licensed in 2011, and transitioned to full-time brokerage in 2014. His education includes extensive training in multifamily investing, seller financing, lender notes, and tax defaulted strategies from leading national experts. This hands-on background gives him an investor’s mindset—focused on cash flow, value-add potential, and long-term wealth creation.
Chris is a past member of the Arizona Real Estate Investors Association, the Arizona Multihousing Association, and has served on several community-focused committees with the Phoenix Community Alliance. Originally from Anchorage Alaska, he brings integrity, market insight, and a commitment to helping clients build both strong portfolios and stronger communities.
